Universal safety rules
These apply to every Blumi product. Please follow them every time, no exceptions.
Adult supervision is required at all times when children are in or near water
No product can replace a watchful adult. Drowning is silent, fast, and can happen in seconds. Children can drown in shallow water, including bathtubs and paddling pools. Stay within arm's reach of children under 5 in any body of water.
No Blumi product is a flotation, life-saving, or swim aid
Do not rely on any product in our range to keep a child afloat. If your child needs flotation support, use an approved life jacket that meets the safety standard for your country.
Inspect every product before each use
Check straps, seams, lenses, seals, valves, and stitching. If anything is cracked, frayed, torn, leaking, faded, or damaged, stop using it immediately and contact us for a replacement.
Use each product only for its stated purpose
Do not use any Blumi product for any activity other than the one described in this guide. Creative misuse is the most common cause of injury with otherwise safe products.
Do not modify, alter, drill, cut, glue, or repair any Blumi product
Modifications void the warranty and create unpredictable safety risks. If a product is damaged, replace it - do not attempt repair.
Suitable for ages 18+ unless otherwise stated
Check each product's section in this guide for age guidance, weight limits, and special instructions. Do not use products on or with children younger than the specified age.
Discontinue use if any irritation, rash, breathing difficulty, or discomfort occurs
Some children may react to silicone, fabric, or other materials. Stop use and consult a healthcare professional if symptoms persist.
Keep all packaging away from children
Plastic bags, clips, ties, and small parts pose a serious choking and suffocation risk. Recycle responsibly and never let children play with packaging.
Store dry, away from heat and direct sunlight
Heat above 40°C damages elastics, foams, plastics, and inflatables. Sunlight degrades materials over time. Avoid storing products in cars, near radiators, or in direct sun.
For human use only
Do not use any Blumi product on or with pets, animals, or as accessories for animals.
Your responsibility
By using any Blumi product, you agree to follow this safety guide and the printed leaflet that ships with every order. Blumi (Simple Curve Ltd) cannot accept liability for injury, illness, damage, or loss caused by:
- Misuse, including any use other than the product's stated purpose
- Modification, alteration, or repair of the product
- Failure to supervise children appropriately
- Failure to inspect the product before use
- Failure to follow the instructions in this guide or on the product packaging
If you do not accept these terms, do not use the product. You may return it within 90 days of purchase for a full refund - see Warranty and returns.
SplashyEyes™ Goggles (incl. Full Nose Cover)
Age: 3 years and over. An adult must fit and supervise on young children.
How to use safely
- An adult should fit the goggles on a young child the first few times.
- Adjust the strap snugly but not tight. Loose causes leaking; too tight causes headaches or pressure marks.
- Press the eyecups gently onto the face to create a seal before tightening the strap.
- Remove by lifting from the forehead, not by pulling the strap (which can snap back into the eye).
- Full Nose Cover variant: ensure the nose cover never restricts normal breathing. Check fit each time. Remove the goggles between active swims; do not wear while resting in the water.
Do not
- Dive or swim below 2 metres - the lens is rated for surface and shallow swim only; deeper pressure may crack the lens and injure the eye.
- Look directly at the sun or use as sunglasses - the lens does not block direct solar UV at high intensity.
- Wear while sleeping, resting, or while not actively swimming.
- Wear during contact sports, ball games, or rough play.
- Use in saunas, hot tubs, or any water above 40°C - heat damages the polycarbonate lens.
- Use as eye protection for power tools, fireworks, paintball, airsoft, chemicals, or any non-swim activity.
- Modify, drill, or pierce any part of the goggles.
- Allow pets or animals to wear the goggles.
Care & cleaning
- Rinse with fresh water after every use.
- Do not wipe the inner lens. Wiping removes the anti-fog coating and is the most common cause of premature fogging.
- If the goggles fog up, dip in clean water and shake off the excess.
- Air dry away from direct heat and sunlight.
- Store in the case provided.
When to replace
- Lens has any crack, chip, or scratch
- Strap has lost elasticity or is fraying
- Seal is hardened, cracked, or no longer holds water out
- Anti-fog has worn off and lenses fog persistently
SunnyEyes™ Sunglasses
Age: 3 years and over.
How to use safely
- For everyday sun protection only.
- Inspect frames and lenses before each use; stop using if cracked or chipped.
- Adjust the fit so the frames sit comfortably without pinching the temples or sliding off.
Do not
- Use for swimming, water sports, or as a swim mask.
- Look directly at the sun, an eclipse, or any intense light source - permanent eye damage can result, even while wearing these.
- Wear while driving at night or in low-light conditions - the tint reduces visibility dangerously.
- Use as safety glasses for tools, fireworks, lasers, or any non-everyday-sun activity.
- Wear during contact sports - the frames are not impact-rated for sport.
- Allow toddlers to chew or bite the frames, arms, or lenses.
- Modify, repair, or attempt to replace lenses.
Care & cleaning
- Wipe with a soft microfibre cloth and clean water.
- Do not use solvents, alcohol, household cleaners, or paper towels - these scratch the lens coating.
- Store in the case provided when not in use.
- Do not leave in hot cars or direct sunlight - heat warps the frames.
When to replace
- Any crack or chip on lenses or frames
- Loose hinges that the case cannot keep stable
- Lens coating has clouded, peeled, or is heavily scratched
SplashCap™ Swim Cap
Age: Per the size guide on packaging. Not suitable for infants under 2 years
How to use safely
- An adult should fit the cap on a young child the first few times.
- Pull on from the forehead toward the back of the neck.
- Fit should be snug, never painful. Remove immediately if your child says it hurts.
- Tuck long hair carefully to avoid pinching at the cap edge.
- Wet the cap and the head slightly before fitting - it slides on much more easily.
Do not
- Pull the cap over the face under any circumstance.
- Place the cap on a child's face for any reason - serious suffocation risk.
- Use on infants or in any way that covers the airways.
- Wear in saunas or hot tubs.
- Use to cover wounds, burns, or skin conditions.
- Wear in cold weather as a winter hat - it offers no insulation.
- Modify, cut, or alter the cap.
Allergy notice
Some children may experience a mild reaction to silicone. Discontinue use if any redness, itching, or irritation appears, and consult a healthcare professional if symptoms persist.
Care & cleaning
- Rinse with fresh water after every use.
- Pat dry with a soft towel - do not wring or twist.
- Lightly dust the inside with talcum powder before storage to preserve elasticity.
- Store flat away from heat and direct sunlight.
When to replace
- Cap has tears, holes, or split seams
- Silicone has hardened, gone tacky, or is permanently misshapen
- Cap no longer holds its shape on the head
SplashRobe™ Hooded Towel
Age: Per the size guide on packaging. The robe should not drag on the floor (trip hazard).
How to use safely
- Out of the water only, after swimming or bathing.
- Always remove the robe before any swimming, paddling, or water activity.
- Ensure the hem clears the floor with a few centimetres to spare.
Do not
- Enter water wearing the robe - wet fabric becomes very heavy and can pull a child down.
- Sleep, rest, or leave a child unattended while wearing the robe - the hood can obstruct an infant's airways.
- Use as a swaddle, blanket, or restraint for infants.
- Pull the hood over a child's face for any reason.
- Wear during cooking or near open flames, hobs, or BBQs - towel fabric is flammable.
- Use as a costume hood, mask, or for play involving restraint.
Care & cleaning
- Wash before first use.
- Machine wash cold with similar colours.
- Tumble dry low. Do not bleach.
- Iron on low heat if needed; avoid printed or embroidered areas.
When to replace
- Fabric is heavily worn, faded, or has lost absorbency
- Hood seam or hem has come apart
- Persistent odour that does not wash out
SplashSteps™ Slippers
Age: Per the size guide on packaging.
How to use safely
- For walking on pool decks, bathrooms, and beach paths.
- Walk - never run.
- Stop using if the sole cracks, peels, or wears smooth.
Do not
- Use in water (swimming, paddling) or on diving boards.
- Run, jump, or play sports while wearing.
- Use on stairs - foam soles do not grip stair edges.
- Use on ice, snow, or frozen surfaces.
- Wear while operating machinery, riding bikes, scooters, or while driving.
- Use as outdoor walking shoes for long distances.
Wet surfaces remain slippery even with non-slip soles, especially with shower gel, oils, sand, moss, or algae. Always walk carefully.
Care & cleaning
- Rinse with fresh water after every use.
- Air dry away from direct heat - heat warps the foam.
- Do not put in the washing machine or tumble dryer.
When to replace
- Sole is cracked, peeling, or worn smooth
- Strap or upper has split
- Foam has compressed and no longer cushions
SplashPack™ Swim Bag
Age: 3 years and over. Maximum load: 3 kg. Splash-resistant, not waterproof.
How to use safely
- The drawstring is a closure only. Use as a backpack via the shoulder cords.
- Do not exceed the maximum load.
Do not
- Place the cord around the neck under any circumstance - serious strangulation risk.
- Submerge or use to protect electronics, cash, passports, or documents.
- Carry hot food, drinks, glass, or sharp items.
- Modify the cords or replace with rope, string, or other materials.
- Use as a flotation device, swim aid, or as anything other than a bag.
- Allow infants or toddlers under 3 to play with the cords.
Care & cleaning
- Rinse with fresh water after each use.
- Air dry fully, inside and out, before storage to prevent mildew.
- Spot clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent if needed.
When to replace
- Cords are frayed, knotted permanently, or have lost their drawstring function
- Fabric has tears or holes
- Persistent mildew odour that does not wash out
SplashBlast™ Firework Water Blaster
Age: 3 years and over.
How to use safely
- Fill with clean fresh water only.
- Aim at least 2 metres away from any person.
- Adult supervision is required near pools, ponds, or any body of water.
- Inspect for cracks before each use; do not use if damaged.
Do not
- Fill with hot water, soap, bleach, cleaning fluids, fuels, or any liquid other than cold fresh water - serious harm including chemical burns can result.
- Aim at the face, eyes, ears, or open mouth of any person or animal.
- Aim at vehicles, drivers, cyclists, or anyone operating equipment.
- Aim at electrical outlets, appliances, sockets, or live wiring.
- Use during thunderstorms or lightning.
- Throw the blaster or use it as a projectile.
- Modify the nozzle, internals, or any part of the blaster.
- Use as a defensive weapon, swim aid, or floating device.
- Point at law enforcement, security personnel, or in any public setting where it could be mistaken for a real weapon.
Wet surfaces become slippery during play. Prefer grass or non-slip ground where possible.
Care & cleaning
- Empty all water after use.
- Air dry fully before storage.
- Never store with water inside - mildew and bacteria grow quickly.
- Wipe the exterior with a soft cloth if needed.
When to replace
- Cracks in the body or nozzle
- Leaks during use
- Pump or trigger no longer functions correctly
⚠ CloudFloat™ Floating Chair - ADULTS ONLY
This product is for adults only. Do not allow children to use it for any reason.
Age: 18 years and over. Maximum user weight: 110 kg /242.5 Pound
This is a leisure pool float. It is NOT a life-saving device, life jacket, or swim aid. You must be a confident swimmer to use it safely.
How to use safely
- Use only in calm, supervised swimming pools.
- Inflate firmly but yielding to finger pressure. Stop inflating when the seams feel taut but not rigid.
- Inspect for leaks, slow punctures, or seam separation before every use.
- Deflate fully when not in use; store away from sunlight.
- If a puncture occurs while you are in the water, exit the float immediately and leave the water.
Do not
- Allow any child to use the float, even with adult supervision - it is not designed for children's body weight or proportions.
- Use in oceans, lakes, rivers, currents, waves, surf, or any open water - wind and tide can carry the float beyond reach in seconds.
- Stand, kneel, walk, or jump on the float.
- Cannonball, dive, or jump onto the float from a height.
- Use the float as a sled, ramp, slide, or for any activity other than relaxing on calm water.
- Allow more than one person on the float at any time.
- Tow the float behind a boat, jet ski, or any vehicle.
- Use the float to carry, transport, or support children in any way.
- Sleep on the float - you may drift, sunburn severely, dehydrate, or fall into the water.
- Smoke, vape, light matches, use BBQs, fire pits, or have any open flame, hot coal, or spark within 3 metres.
- Use near sharp objects, glass, jewellery with sharp edges, or pet claws.
- Use in spas, hot tubs, or any water above 40°C - heat degrades the PVC and seams.
- Inflate with helium, compressed gas, air compressors above standard pressure, or anything other than the included pump (or a comparable manual or electric pump intended for inflatables).
- Inflate by mouth - saliva degrades the seam adhesive over time. Use the included pump.
- Over-inflate - this stresses the seams and can cause sudden seam failure.
- Add weights, anchors, ropes, or any attachments.
- Use during thunderstorms, lightning, or high wind.
- Use after consuming alcohol, cannabis, recreational drugs, or prescription drugs that impair judgement or coordination.
- Use as a swimming aid for non-swimmers, weak swimmers, or anyone unable to self-rescue if the float deflates.
Care & cleaning
- Inspect before and after every use.
- Deflate fully after each use.
- Rinse with fresh water and dry fully before storage.
- Store away from sunlight, sharp objects, and heat sources.
- Repair small punctures only with a manufacturer-approved repair kit; if damage is structural, replace the float.
When to replace
- Any seam separation
- Punctures that cannot be reliably repaired
- PVC has hardened, cracked, or discoloured significantly
- The float will not hold air for the duration of normal use
General care guide
After every use
- Rinse with fresh water - chlorine, salt, and sand all degrade product materials.
- Air dry fully before storage - mildew is the number one cause of premature failure.
- Store away from direct sunlight, heaters, radiators, and car windows.
- Inspect before next use.
Storage best practices
- Keep products dry. Damp storage causes mildew, odours, and material breakdown.
- Avoid pressure or heavy weight on stored items - this deforms goggles, slippers, and inflatables.
- Use the cases or pouches provided where applicable.
- Keep out of reach of pets and small children when not in use.
Extending product life
- Rinse immediately after each pool, sea, or chlorinated use - waiting until "later" is the most common mistake.
- Always air dry before putting items into a closed bag or box.
- Avoid extreme temperatures (under 0°C or above 40°C).
- Replace products at the first sign of wear rather than waiting for failure.
When to replace a product
Stop using and contact us for a replacement if you notice any of the following:
- Cracks in lenses, frames, or rigid plastic
- Tears, fraying, or unravelling stitching
- Worn-smooth or peeling slipper soles
- Slow leaks or seam separation in inflatables
- Loose, broken, or missing parts on any product
- Persistent odour that does not wash out
- Faded or hardened silicone, foam, or rubber
We sell replacements at fair prices. Email us before you buy elsewhere; we often replace under warranty.
